LPT Request: How to avoid arguing with someone who has a grudge against me and will likely try to start something during a social event I'm about to go to. So i rented a house with an old high-school buddy a while back. He turned out to be controlling and manipulative and if he couldn't control me he became toxic and abusive. So when the lease ended I just packed my shit a left. I did let him know I was moving out about 4 or 5 months in advance and I didn't deliberately damage or mess up the place....
