Will debts pass on to us? My MIL is going through a rough patch where all she’s talking about is her untimely death. She suffers from depression. She has very little to no assets, doesn’t own a property or have investments or own a car. Her only “asset” would be her 401k. She keeps telling us we’ll need to settle her debts when she passes.
